Example: I am reading The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. My favorite part of this book so far is the beginning scene when the young girl is rescued from the pier in Australia. I like this part because the author clearly sets up the mystery from the beginning and holds the reader in suspense.

I am reading the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid Old School by Jeff Kinney. My favorite part is hen he was at Hardscrabble Farms for a school trip there was a story about Silas Scratch and when Gregory thought he saw Silas shed he went in to investigate but when he was in there he heard the shower running so he went next to the door and heard humming but when the person walked out of the shower it was Gregory’s. And his dad told him he made up Silas Scratch so no one would go into his hideout when he went to Hardscrabble Farms.

I am reading the book The Haunting by Lindsey Duga. It is about a girl named Emily who wants a home. And when she finally does she notices it's different from the stories people have told her about. it was too late.or so she thought. Someone is trying to stop her from joining the family but she doesn't know who. My favorite part of this book is at the end where Katherine/ the girl who doesn't want Emily in the family waves and disappears(Katherine is a ghost). This is my Favorite part because this might mean Katherine will be a good person / ghost after all.

I am reading the book Camp, by Kayla Miller. My favorite part is when Willow learns to play the drums and Olive learns to play the guitar. I like this part because it shows the two girls are not afraid to try new things. I can relate to this book because I'm not afraid to try new or different things. Even though Olive was bad she didn't give up. Willow was good at drums so she joined a band and kept playing.

The book that I’m reading at home currently is called When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead. My favorite part of the book so far is when Miranda, a 12-year-old girl goes to the office with her mom and sneak some grapes but, funny enough her mom won’t buy her grapes. Because her mom believes that they don’t properly treat the grapes well. Miranda explains, that grapes make her feel happy, energized and that is why she loves them so so much. The main idea of this book is about when Miranda starts receiving mysterious notes from a person saying they’re trying to help her friend but Miranda has no idea who is sending these notes! I highly recommend this book, it’s probably one of my favorites and as a matter of fact I got a Newberry medal. Bye now I’ll see you next time on mayah writes blogs!

The book i’m reading right now is called Refugee by Alan Gratz. My favorite part of the book so far is when a kid named Josef’s father who went to a concentration camp dove overboard because he thought that there were Nazis on the boat. It was my favorite part because it was funny and I was curious what was going to happen.

I read Amina’s Voice by Hena Khan. My favorite part is when Amina sings a solo for the first time. It’s my favorite part because Amina is brave. She's singing in front of people who have never heard her sing. She's facing her fear and is doing what she loves and I love to sing like her.

I am reading The Secret Lake by Karen Inglis. My favorite part of the book is that when Tom was digging he thought he found a treasure chest but it was actually the bottom of a boat. I like that part because when it said, " The rounded lid of the treasure chest seemed to go on forever as the patch Tom dug grew wider and wider." That is why I like that part of the boat.

I am reading Swimming With Dolphins by Jessie Paddock. My favorite part of this book so far is when KT’s (the main character) mom took her to Dolphina Cove to make her feel better after they moved and she loves dolphins but she is paralyzed so she is doing something she always wanted to but also facing her fears since she’s paralyzed. I like this part because it shows that if you really want something badly you do it even if something is holding you back.

I am reading the book Dragon Masters: The Future of the Time Dragon, by Tracey West. My favorite part is when Drake, who was teleported back in time, but not by Maj, the Time Dragon, but by an imp, from the Isle of the Imps. I love it when Drake travels to the castle (which at his time in the actual present time, where he lives, but before that, he was an onion farmer) and meets his wizard in the castle, Griffith, who did not know him yet, and Drake told him he was the Earth Dragon’s Dragon Master (which he names Worm), but Griffith said he had no master. Then my favorite part was when Worm connected with Drake and said, I feel like I know you, then he believed Drake that he was his dragon. I liked this part because it tells us that even back in time, dragons still connected with their Dragon Masters (but this won’t make much sense if you haven’t read at least the first book).

My favorite part of The 13-Story Treehouse by Andy Griffiths is when the character Terry painted a cat yellow. After that, Terry thought the cat would fly. His friend, Andy, said that the cat wouldn't fly. Then probably because it is a book the cat flew and popped wings out of its body.

What I'm reading at home right now is Pax by Jon Klassen. My favorite part in Pax is when the boy, Peter, throws a tennis ball outside. Pax runs after the ball but gets lost. Peter was worried he would never see Pax again. So late at night Peter gathered a bunch of equipment and went looking for Pax. I don’t know if Peter finds Pax - I haven’t gotten very far into the book - but I like this part because it shows the friendship that Peter feels towards Pax.

I am reading: Who Was-Robert E. Lee and What Was: The Battle of Gettysburg. In the book Who Was Robert E. Lee, I learned that Robert E. Lee was 5'10, and that was really tall for back then. He was a good soldier and a good leader for the south, or the Rebels. In the book What was the Battle of Gettysburg I learned that it was a big battle between the North and South or between the Union and the Rebels. In this battle it was very sad because friends had hurt and sometimes kill their own friends. It was a very unpleasant war.

Right now, I am reading Epic Zero by R.L. Ullman. The book is about Elliott Harkness, the main character. Elliott is 11 and lives in a family of super heroes. They all have super powers, except him. Even his dog has super powers. But Elliott is a zero. A zero is technically just a normal human without any powers. My favorite part is when Elliott discovers that he actually has powers. His power is that he is a Meta Manipulator. His power is level 3, the highest power level possible. Since he has powers, he's on the Freedom Force. The Freedom Force is as group of super heroes that fights Meta Bad Guys. I am on page 153 of Book 1. There are 170 pages in the first book.
